November 25: Fori Imperiali reopening
Today, November 25, the archaeological area of the Imperial Forums will be available for everybody
After twenty years, one of the most admired archaeological sites in Italy and all over the world, will again be available to all visitors, thanks to a path barrier-free.
This area was previously used only for events and summer shows, a huge waste thinking about her priceless cultural value.
From now on, everyone can really walk through the history of Rome.
These are the words of the mayor Virginia Raggi during the inauguration:
“It is a big emotion to walk in this beautiful path, full of history and charm, and which has been closed for too many years. The re-opening to the public of the archaeological area of the Imperial Forums, after the recent Circus Maximus, is another important piece of historical and archaeological heritage of Rome that is given back to the city and the world “. “For us, the participation of citizens is the first instrument for the revival of Rome, as a large modern and welcoming city for everyone, and I want to emphasize the importance of the absence of architectural barriers along this path.”
As the mayor said, after the reopening of the Circus Maximus, this is another significant step that can bring the city to a re-evaluation from a cultural and touristic point of view.
Rome, in fact, despite its long history and its many beauties that many international cities envy, has never been valued, often leaving space to disorganization and neglect.
With this maxi restoration finally the city returns to being what it deserves.
Moreover, rates are really low: ticket costs 4 euro, while the reduced 3. The visit lasts one hour, every day of the week.

Maxi restauration: the importance of Circo Massimo
Circo Massimo, the largest Roman circus dedicated to horse racing and entertainment in ancient Rome, is one of the symbolic places of the city.
Its history and importance have long been overshadowed, and many tourists today know little about the history of this place that in ancient Rome was crucial in the Romans leisure activities.
Maybe today it will be given the importance it deserves.
After about six years of restoration, in fact, it will be open for Romans and tourists, with an archaeological area in the south side, some itineraries and a rooftop terrace. there will be also an underground area where stood workshops for games.
Prices are reasonable:
4 € (3 € reduced thicket) for residents
5 Euros ( 4reduced thicket) for tourists
The works have been long as usual, but an important piece of history is finally returned to its citizens and millions of tourists will have a new point of view.
